On January 14, 2025 George Mason University – College of Engineering and Computing launched the AI-in-Government Council, a collaborative initiative in partnership with leading public-sector technology providers and government leaders from local, state, and federal agencies.

The Council is a trusted resource for deep AI tech insights for the government and serves as a vital bridge between academia and industry, focusing on advancing AI approaches, governance frameworks, innovative technologies, and robust guardrails to guide the development and deployment of responsible AI in government.
