Kevin Lybarger’s research explores artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP), with an emphasis on health applications. His health research began during his PhD and postdoc, where he investigated clinical informatics at the intersection of NLP and clinical documentation. Lybarger has since expanded his health research to include health-focused conversational agents and public health, addressing challenges in healthcare. His broader research interests extend beyond health, encompassing information integrity and correctional system informatics. By integrating AI and NLP, his research seeks to optimize the use of textual information in decision-making, foster innovative information exchange, and enhance information integrity to drive meaningful societal change.
